Escape The Fate est un groupe de post-hardcore américain originaire de Las Vegas, Nevada. Leur premier album, intitulé Dying Is Your Latest Fashion, est sorti le 26 septembre 2006 chez Epitaph Records.
Sommaire

Le chanteur Ronnie Radke a formé le groupe Escape the Fate à travers Myspace avec l'aide de Max Green. Ils ont rapidement trouvé le guitariste Bryan « Monte » Money, qui fut ensuite remplacé par le guitariste Omar Espinosa(anciennement membre du groupe Lovehatehero) au début de l'année 2005. Ami et batteur à la fois, Robet Ortiz les rejoints finalement pour compléter le groupe. Ils débutent les lives a peine un mois plus tard et rencontrent un premier succès sur la radio locale, rassemblant rapidement un nombre important de fans. En Octobre 2005, il gagnèrent un concours de radio locale jugé par My Chemical Romance, qui leurs donnèrent l'occasion de faire l'ouverture de l'un des concerts de leur tournée actuelle avec Alkaline Trio et Reggie and the Full Effect.

Ils signent ensuite avec Epitaph Records. Et font leurs débuts avec un EP, There's No Sympathy For The Dead, composé de cinq morceaux, parut début 2006. Les dates de la tournée se suivent durant l'été, avec notamment plusieurs dates au Warped Tour puis le groupe annule une tournée avec Bullet for My Valentine et Eighteen Visions pour cause de problèmes personnels. Radke a soudainement été exclu du groupe quelques semaines avant la sortie de leur premier album complet Dying Is Your Latest Fashion, qui est sorti le 26 septembre 2006. Dying Is Your Latest Fashion atteignit la 12ème place du Billboard Heatseekers chart et fut 18ème du Top Independent Albums chart.

Le 6 novembre 2006, le groupe posta un nouveau blog sur Myspace indiquant que Radke était de retour dans le groupe. Radke posta également un blog sur myspace expliquant son absence et décrivant son nouvel amour pour la vie.

Le groupe était annoncé pour partager la tête d'affiche du « Take Action Tour », mais n'étaient pas en capacité de jouer pour des raisons inconnus, et furent remplacés par From First To Last. Omar Espinosa quitta le groupe durant le Black On Black tour fin 2007. Il a déclaré sur son Myspace qu'il quittait le groupe pour de bon mais que son départ se faisait en de bons termes et qu'il était toujours ami avec les membres de Escape The Fate.


Radke a eu plusieurs altercations avec la police depuis 2006. Il a également été condamnée à 5 années de sursis en liberté surveillée pour sa participation à un combat qui a eu lieu en mai 2006. Le combat à mené à la mort par balle de Ryan Wilkins, 18 ans, tué par un ami proche de Ronnie Radke présent sur les lieux et qui était armé. Ronnie Radke, réelement impliqué dans le meurtre, à plaidé coupable. Le groupe a alors du stopper tout voyage et n'a pas donné d'autre commentaire concernant les faits. C'est actuellement Craig Mabbitt (Blessthefall) qui remplace Ronnie Radke en tant que leader du groupe et chanteur principal. En revanche, un rapport a été fait sur le profil MySpace du groupe déclarant que Craig Mabbitt chante pour trois shows et qu'ils n'ont encore fait aucun choix défini quant au chanteur.


Le 6 mai 2008, Escape The Fate a annoncé que Craig Mabbitt a officiellement rejoint le groupe pour l'enregistrement de la suite de Dying Is Your Latest Fashion. Le nouvel album sera produit par John Feldmann (The Used, Story Of The Year, Atreyu) et devrait être prévu pour fin 2008. Dans le même communiqué de presse, Mabbitt a discuté de ses sentiments en rapport au fait de se joindre le groupe:

« Je suis excité d'avoir l'occasion de continuer de faire la musique avec un groupe de personnes étonnantes, j'aime ce qui sort de nous dans le studio en ce moment et les choses ne pourraient pas aller mieux. Escape The Fate succède le monde, alors bouclez vos ceintures de sécurité parce que nous sommes ici pour rester. »

Le bassiste Max Green a également discuté de la direction du nouvel album dans le communiqué de presse:

« Ce nouvel album ne va pas être un album de metal hardcore et ne va pas être un album mélodique et calme. Nous sommes qui nous sommes, nous sommes Escape The Fate. »
